Victorian Trade Card - Scott & Bowne's Palatable Castor Oil - Family Scene
This is an original Victorian trade card advertising Scott & Bowne's Palatable Castor Oil. It shows a large bottle of the castor oil on a table and a mother giving a dose to her young son while another child plays nearby. There is a verse on the front as well:
See how these children take and ask for more
Of the same oil they sickened at before
What no one young or old could once endure
Now tastes pleasant sweet and pure.
How could anyone resist taking castor oil after that?
The back describes the wonders of this palatable castor oil along with several testimonials dating from 1870 to 1879.
It measures 5 1/2 x 3 1/8 inches and is in nice condition, bright colors,slight discoloration to border on right side.
